Nordentic och Forstec i teknikutvecklingens centrum.
 – Vår vision är att samla ihop den svenska tandteknikerkåren i det stora teknikskiftet som pågår just nu. Vi ser att enskilda, mindre labb, har svårt att hänga med i utvecklingen. Och här kan vi hjälpa till, säger Filip Truedsson, vd Nordentic.

"For a lab to really benefit from its technology investments, the company needs 15-20 employees. We give smaller labs an opportunity to keep up with technology development in a new suit." says Filip.

Nordentic has solutions for both large and small labs. They offer larger labs to join the Nordentic family or for several small labs to join together under a common unit. This has been successfully implemented in several places in the country.

"There is a critical mass for each lab. Many one-man labs will retire in the next few years and it may be difficult to justify the necessary technology investments. There are a few large or medium-sized labs left that could be interesting to acquire, but above all there are several smaller ones. Right now we are looking at 1 to 2 man labs that welcome the new technology. These may be labs that have dentists working in several different systems and where it will be expensive to receive files in several systems. There is also the option of being employed by us at Nordentic."

"Forstec is one of a few suppliers who operate in most areas. Our cooperation is facilitated when we have one party to negotiate with. Just like us, Forstec has the advantage of scale, which makes it easier to negotiate good prices." says Filip.

"I and our vice president, Johnny Tekin, have a very good cooperation with Magnus Martinsson and Tomas Sund at Forstec. We have a good dialog and all parties are responsive. Our labs themselves order directly from Forstec and in the coming days this will be done completely digitally directly into Forstec's system via an ERP monitor. A very good development in our cooperation."

"What I really appreciate about Forstec is their logistics network. It makes our daily work easier." says Filip.

Challenges ahead

"It is important that we keep the right balance in development. One example of rapid development is the digital impressions from intraoral scanners, which today, for many, account for an increasing share of turnover. "When I started at Nordentic four years ago, that figure was low. A challenge for us is to retain traditional skills, with plaster models etc. in parallel with the digital development, which will be a significant part for a number of years to come."

"Then there are several competitors from outside, including China. They have lower wages, but the difference in earnings disappears as the difficulties of transportation increase. Many large companies in Europe are now reducing their production from China." says Filip.  

Nordentic's key words are Safety, Technology and Will.

"Security means that both customers and employees know that we will be around in the future. And that our guarantees are valid for the future. Technology means that we invest in the latest technology and in know-how that guarantees the customer's flow. The will manifests that we always work hard to do a good job." concludes Filip.

Nordentic is the Nordic region's largest network of dental labs with 11 service-oriented local labs with high competence and long experience.
